Marco E. Benalcázar received the degree of Ph.D. in Electronic Orientation Engineering at the National University of Mar del Plata, Argentina, in 2014. From September 2012 to February 2013, he did a research stay at the Genomic Signal Processing Laboratory at Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas, USA. He is currently a full-time associate professor at the Department of Informatics and Computer Sciences at the Escuela Politécnica Nacional, Quito, Ecuador. His research interests are computational modeling, artificial intelligence and machine learning.
