Marco Enrique Benalcázar Palacios - [Head]

Marco E. Benalcázar received the degree of Ph.D. in Electronic Orientation Engineering at the National University of Mar del Plata, Argentina, in 2014. From September 2012 to February 2013, he did a research stay at the Genomic Signal Processing Laboratory at Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas, USA. He is currently a full-time associate professor at the Department of Informatics and Computer Sciences at the Escuela Politécnica Nacional, Quito, Ecuador. His research interests are computational modeling, artificial intelligence and machine learning.

    María Gabriela Pérez Hernández

    María G. Pérez obtained a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Mathematical Modeling from the University Rey Juan Carlos Madrid, in 2012. She worked as associate professor in the Area of Intelligent Systems at the Computer Science and Informatics Department of Escuela Politécnica Nacional, Quito, Ecuador. She has over 10 years of experience in project on computer analysis and works as coordinator or participant in several research projects. Her research focuses on the Artificial Intelligence and vision area, in particular, computer methods for early diagnosis and classification of cancerous lesions. It has several projects Research Projects Computer Vision, Pattern Recognition, Digital Image, and numerous publications in journals with impact factor.

    José Francisco Lucio Naranjo

    José Lucio Naranjo received the degree of Ph.D. in Computational Modeling, at the Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro. His research area is mainly under the Computational Modeling line, particularly in the investigation of numerical simulation techniques and computational intelligence applied to the modeling of acoustic propagation and to the generation of acoustic virtual reality.

    Adriana Uquillas Andrade

    Adriana Uquillas Andrade has experience in Probability with emphasis on Special Stochastic Processes and Hydrodynamic Limit of particle systems, and with Statistics and Econometric in her twelve years of experience in Research and Development in the financial sector, where she carried out many research projects that were effectively transferred and adopted by different Multinational Banks. She was Research and Development Manager and Credit Risk Manager at Itaú Unibanco, and Senior Credit Risk Manager at HSBC Bank. Adriana actively cooperates with research group of the Institute of Energy and Environment of the University of São Paulo (IEE / USP) in problems related to the energy system. She is currently member of Integrative Ecology research group and full-time associate professor at the Department of Mathematics at the Escuela Politécnica Nacional, Quito, Ecuador.
